Project Amigo
Education and literacy are powerful keys to enabling a brighter future for the world’s children, who in turn benefit the nations they live in. For nearly three decades, Project Amigo, a U.S. 501 (c) (3) non-profit charity since 1996, has helped rural children in Mexico continue their formal schooling up to and including college level. The Rotary Club of Westminster has participated with Project Amigo for nearly a decade, sponsoring a student by providing the needs to be successful in school--bus money, books, school supplies, uniforms, a hot lunch, and weekly support through Project Amigo’s Homework Club. Read letters from José Ramón, our sponsored student.
Scholarship Program
Launched in 1999, the Rotary Community Scholarship undertaking is one of the most comprehensive local programs in Colorado. Over $1,000,000 in scholarships has been distributed to more than 500 successful applicants. Each Spring, active Westminster Rotary committees interview and select students who will be awarded grants ranging from $1,000 to $4,000.
